Machine monitoring equipment connects to Ethernet

A Sensonics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 25, 2007

The DN36 Spyder range of machine monitoring and protection equipment can be connected to any Ethernet network to provide remote monitoring via standard internet tools.

The DN36 Spyder range of machine monitoring and protection equipment and the SpyderNet plug in and play monitor are available from condition monitoring specialists Sensonics.

The complete DN36 family is line-stackable to ensure rapid system integration/installation and minimal wiring requirements and can be connected to any Ethernet network to provide remote monitoring via standard internet tools.

DIN rail mounting to either 35mm or G type DIN rails ensures that monitors can be mounted in panels with other equipment or positioned locally in a junction box to the machine to be monitored.

Suitable for monitoring many types of rotating machinery, including turbines, motors, pumps and fans, the DN36 series offers dual-channel monitoring, providing mix and match measurement options such as vibration, displacement, temperature, speed and eccentricity across both channels.

Measurement function on all units is factory set by fitting personality cards, whilst operators can set measurement range, units, alarm trip points and filter selection by means of the front panel software interface.

Two alarm levels per channel are available to drive common relays for the safe tripping of plant.

A system integrity alarm is also routed to a separate relay.

Units can be fitted with an optional web server, for which no additional software is required.

Capable of monitoring eight standard ICP type or current mode accelerometers as well as 4-20mA process inputs, the plug-in and play SpyderNet provides a cost-effective solution to remote monitoring of vibration or process channels.

The compact (123 x 107 x 51) unit is fitted with an integral web server for network monitoring and easily interfaces with the rest of the Sensonics DN36 and existing DN2600 monitors.
