Vibration sensor handles high-temperature duties

ATEX approved vibration transducer is designed for use on gas turbines.

Sensonics is set to launch the PZEHT, a high-temperature (up to 450C) ICP type vibration transducer, at Maintec.

Robust and hermetically sealed, this latest instrument from Sensonics is designed for use on gas turbines and joins an established stable of high-temperature accelerometers currently manufactured by the company.

ATEX approved, the new unit incorporates a test calibration facility able to confirm correct operation of the complete sensing loop: particularly important where the sensor is positioned in hard to reach or in nonserviceable parts of the turbine.

Other products to be featured on the stand will include the company's recently introduced PRS05 eddy current proximity probe, capable of operating to temperatures of 240C.

Extremely robust, the probe maintains measurement accuracy to within 5% over the full temperature range and is suitable for monitoring rotating shaft alignment and axial position.

Especially suited for use on steam and gas turbines, centrifuges and pumps, the unit joins a range of Sensonic proximity probes offering noncontacting measurement configurations and API 670 compliance.

Maintaining the high temperature theme, Sensonics will also feature a range of LVDTs on its stand including the long-established HTD Series, designed for heavy industrial use and capable of operating to temperatures of 200C.

The full range of Sensonics LVDTs incorporates frictionless movement, which ensures long mechanical life.

The ruggedness of construction also means that the instruments can survive even the most severe abuse.
