Intelligent GSM modem sends SMS from
remote sites
Insys DIN industrial communication devices are designed to work with any industrial device, from a simple auxiliary contact on a circuit breaker to a fully PLC-controlled production line.

Module puts text messaging to work on remote sites
The GSM Control DIN-rail device combines the ability to send up to four text messages from a remote machine or process using a simple volt-free input.
Low-cost system provides GSM industrial telemetry
The Cel-Ind GSM telemetry system is designed to work in industrial, commercial and process environments.
All modems are easily configures using HS-COMM, the Windows based configuration software, and come with a host of easy-to-use features.
The star of the range is the intelligent GSM modem, which allows any remote machine or process to transmit up to 10 different SMS text messages to 10 different mobile numbers without the cost of a permanent telephone line.
The intelligent GSM modem can also be configured to send SMS messages to email addresses and fax machines.
This makes it the ideal device for service and maintenance teams who can reduce unnecessary site visits and be constantly aware of process data, alarms and maintenance schedules.
The operator can remotely control the process just by sending a, password-protected, message back to the GSM modem.
The GSM modem can connect directly to major PLCs allowing remote monitoring of the systems.
Communications costs are minimised by using standard pay-as-you-go SIMs with each message costing from 10p.
Applications include remote pumping and irrigation sites, water treatment, packaging machines, coin-op vending machines, entry systems etc.
The SMS technology is not limited to the GSM modem as text messages can also be sent from the standard PSTN modem.
The PSTN is available in 14.4, 33.6 and 56Kbit/s versions and, in common with all other Insys DIN products, can be powered for 10 to 80V DC, making them suitable for remote sites.
The Ethernet and ISDN devices make connecting to an industrial device via an intranet or the Internet simplicity itself.
By giving a PLC a TCP/IP address it can be remotely interrogated by any PC through a virtual comms port.
The ISDN adapter allows high-speed data communications with very fast connection times.
