The Sorion Electronics team has been significantly strengthened with the addition of two new directors.

The Sorion Electronics team has been significantly strengthened with the addition of two new directors.

Steve Hayes and Nick Hartt (ex Cirrus Technologies), have between them 35 years experience in test equipment, production processes and integration, and took part ownership of Sorion Electronics in May.

Phil Yates, Managing Director, has welcomed the pair saying: "Steve and Nick bring skills and ideas to help drive Sorion Electronics into a more focused future, utilising core engineering skills with sound fiscal policies ensuring we capitalise on our cost effective services in the assembly and test equipment and IT services sectors of local manufacturing industry".

"The multinational equipment suppliers are expecting a tough time fighting over the few major opportunities presenting themselves over the next few years in the automotive industry.

Sorion is well placed to handle the small and medium sized contracts".

"The expansion of Sorion Electronics reinforces our commitment to providing excellence of service at affordable prices and we have geographically limited our coverage ensuring OEMs and Tier1 suppliers with which we build partnerships can rely on us to define, build and support equipment and infrastructure".

Steve Hayes, Commercial Director, regards his purchase into Sorion as "A positive move to a company with a good name in the automotive industry.

The small size and incumbent engineering skills enable us to respond quickly to customer needs and keep abreast of the latest technology.

I take seriously the need to support customers, providing flexible solutions rather than adopting the standard approach of pushing off-the-shelf product".

Nick Hartt, Systems Director, with his IT and software background has bolstered the already substantial strengths in microcontroller and Windows programming.

"Sorion has excellent test and process software but has had difficulty breaking into the fields of site-wide networks and remote access.

I bring proven experience in both the technical aspects and documentation necessary to connect to, and support, OEM networks".

"We are also now offering a subcontract service to help Tier1 suppliers meet the demanding security and documentation requirements of the major OEM vehicle manufacturers and to setup access and security protocols".

"I am pleased to be a part of a team of proactive engineers and look forward to helping build on the firm foundation which is Sorion Electronics".
