Sorion Electronics was nominated by Land Rover earlier this year for inclusion within the Premium Automotive Research and Development Programme (PARDP) being undertaken at the University of Warwick.

The International Automotive Research Centre (IARC) at the University of Warwick was launched in April 2003 with prime objectives in research and development, training and supply chain development for the premium automotive vehicle sector in the UK.

An integral and major part of the IARC undertaking is the PARDP programme that is sponsored by the Premier Automotive Group (PAG) within Ford Motor Company.

The PARDP programme consists of a number of individual projects targeted at specific areas for research and development.

Sorion has been working with engineers from the IARC on the Electrical Test for Advanced Architectures (ETTA) project since April 2004.

The project is well into phase one (data capture and analysis of the areas to be developed) and soon will be entering phase two where the specific technologies and processes will be developed.

Sorion engineers bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the ETTA project and are finding the wide-ranging discussions with IARC engineers both stimulating and invaluable in helping defining the future plans for product development at Sorion.

With the rapid growth and development of electronics and networking in the modern car, full enrolment in such a programme as ETTA is seen as crucial to the continued growth of Sorion.

Sorion is committed to delivering the latest in vehicle diagnostics, manufacturing and test systems.
