SP Technology has been awarded a GBP 1m contract to design and manufacture three special-purpose production machines for Gripple.
Dundee-based automation company SP Technology has been awarded a GBP 1m contract to design and manufacture three special-purpose production machines for Gripple.
SP Technology supplied two systems to Gripple last year, winning the orders against tough competition.
The success of these projects gave Gripple increased confidence in the capabilities of SP Technology and this was one of the main reasons it returned to the Dundee company with the latest order.
Gripple is involved in the design, manufacture and marketing of Gripple Joiners and Tensioners, Gripple Hangers and Gripple Rope Grips.
The three new machines will include state of the art robotics, automated vision, feeding, transfer and servo winding systems.
Once in place in Gripple's factory in Sheffield the machines will produce three product ranges for distribution around the world.
