X-y table offers a sleek low profile design with an overall height of only 32mm and square footprint of 199 x 199mm.

Steinmeyer has announced a new open frame precision positioning stage model KDT 180-DC.

This x-y table offers a sleek low profile design with an overall height of only 32mm and square footprint of 199 x 199mm.

Total travel is 60mm in each direction with straightness/flatness deviation of 1um.

Included inside the compact stage are the drive mechanisms for each axis - a precision preloaded miniature ball screw, coupled to a DC motor with rotary encoder.

Manufactured from high strength anodised aluminium, the table weighs just 2.5kg, yet can handle loads of up to 50N.

It offers a positional accuracy of 5um and repeatability of 1um.

Speeds up to 10mm/s and accelerations of 0.1m/s2 are easily achieved.

The standard stage includes backlash free preloaded cross roller bearings for precise linear guidance and a 90mm-square aperture to enable light or objects to pass through the centre of travel.

The open compact KDT 180-DC x-y stage is ideal for applications in the optical gauging, inspection, vision system, biomedical and pin insertion industries.
