Sunrise Electronics, is announcing a new high-brightness colour TFT module in its extensive range of flat-panel displays which delivers VGA resolution in a compact 6.5inch format.

Dedicated NEC distributor, Sunrise Electronics, is announcing a new high-brightness colour TFT module in its extensive range of flat-panel displays which delivers VGA resolution in a compact 6.5inch format that is currently being discontinued by some other manufacturers The NL6448BC20-xx, is a 17cm diagonal (6.5inch) LCD giving a clear, bright display in the industry standard VGA resolution of 640x480 pixels

This module accepts 6-bit digital RGB signals plus sync and is capable of simultaneous display of 262,144 colours.

It is electrically compatible with NEC's earlier 6.5inch modules, and those from other manufacturers, making it easy to incorporate into existing designs or projects in progress.

Developed for industrial applications such as factory automation and process control, as well as general purpose displays, this family features models with high contrast ratio (up to 600:1).

It offers wide viewing angles of 70deg (left and right) and 45deg (up and down).

Two built in cold cathode backlights designed for significantly longer life and simple replacement provide illumination.

This module has a very high luminance of 350cd/m2 - several times brighter than a typical PC panel.

The increased brightness level and contrast make this display suitable for instruments and equipment used in environments with wide ranging ambient lighting conditions.

Sunrise Electronics provides design-in support to systems integrators and OEMs looking to integrate NEC display modules into a broad spectrum of end products and can advise on interfaces and driver cards for a wide range of applications.

Display products are a key market sector for Sunrise, which has had a number of significant design wins in this area.
