XGA-resolution camera upgrades machine
vision
The XC-HR70 camera captures 29.2 frames per second and is the industry's first to deliver XGA resolution at such a small size, measuring just 29 x 29 x 30mm.

Interface prepares HD camera for industrial use
The Tagarno convertor board will enable the FCB-H10 camera to be easily used in almost any application including industrial inspection systems.
Tiny camera delivers high-quality images
The FCB-EX11D fulfils the needs of designers of miniature pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) security dome and traffic monitoring systems, as well as any application where space is restricted.
It is the ideal unit for increasing the accuracy and quality of most machine vision applications.
The camera uses a 0.33in progressive scan CCD sensor to output video signals with true XGA resolution (effective 1024 x 768pixel) at approximately 30frame/s.
Square pixels assure a geometrically true picture when using the camera for accurate measurement applications.
To capture fast-moving action on a production line, the camera can be driven at even higher frame rates of up to 120frame/s with innovative partial scanning and binning functions, whilst still delivering an effective resolution of approximately 150 video lines.
The camera is quick and easy to set up for OEMs and installers which is further enhanced by the units ability to accepts standard C-mount lenses.
Shutter speed, gain select and other settings are altered via easy-to-reach switches on the rear panel.
The rear connector conforms to the new EIAJ 12-pin pattern, accepting WEN output and asynchronous trigger pulse input for three external modes including restart/reset and reset/non-reset external sync.
"With the introduction of the XC-HR70 OEMs and installers no longer need to compromise on installation size or imaging quality.
This is particularly true for machine vision and high speed image processing applications where movement of a machine parts or production lines need to be captured accurately with minimal motion blur", comments Fabien Roth, Product Manager for component cameras at Sony Business Europe.
"The XC-HR70 builds on the success of its predecessor, the XC-HR50, adding the extra appeal of double-speed scanning in the same sized package.
There's no other camera on the market that achieves XGA resolution and the ability to offer such high frame rates from such a well-built, compact "fit-anywhere" unit.
The camera can be mounted even in tight spaces where access is limited or hard-to-reach places like a fast moving robot arm", concluded Roth.
The unit meets level 4 of the lead-free constitution with the implementation of lead-free parts and all lead-free soldering.
The XC-HR70 is widely available now.
