Small claims for machine vision camera
The latest addition to Sony Europe's Image Sensing Solutions division lineup of analogue, progressive scan, machine vision cameras is a highly miniaturised remote head camera unit.
XGA-resolution camera upgrades machine vision
The XC-HR70 camera captures 29.2 frames per second and is the industry's first to deliver XGA resolution at such a small size, measuring just 29 x 29 x 30mm.
IEEE1394 cameras for demanding applications
Two new monochrome digital cameras are designed for high-speed high-resolution machine-vision applications.
The XC-56 is an enhanced successor to the well-known XC-55, and is aimed at manufacturers and value added resellers working on demanding machine vision applications.
The third-inch type progressive scanning Sony CCD with square pixels provides an excellent picture quality, at an affordable price.
The new camera uses technology developed by the company that give it the edge in the advancement of industrial imaging for high-speed applications.
The Sony XC-56 camera works at 30 frames per second, making it ideal for machine vision applications with fast moving objects such as semiconductor production, automotive production and other high-speed assembly lines.
Furthermore, this speed guarantees easy integration with a low-cost frame grabber to produce a competitively priced, complete solution.
Smaller than many comparable cameras, the XC-56 measures just 29 x 29 x 30mm and weighs only 50g, allowing the camera to be installed in machine vision systems where space and weight of the camera are key factors.
The camera has good sensitivity at 0.5lux at aperture F1.4, with high signal to noise ratio of 58dB.
It provides an external trigger shutter and both internal and external synchronisation.
The XC-56 uses the C-mount system and is fully compatible with its predecessor, the XC-55.
The new camera is the latest addition to a range of products based on the same housing, connectors and control signals, each meeting specific customer needs.
The XC-56 provides a very affordable progressive scan vision solution with which Sony, a market leader in machine vision, expects to further expand demand for compact, high quality, progressive scan, analogue cameras in the machine vision commodity market.
The cameras will be available in June 2004.
