Green Power UPS features 96 per cent efficiency

A Socomec Sicon UPS product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 23, 2009

Green Power is a range of static UPS systems with power ranging from 10-40kVA and 100 to 200kVA, for loads with power factor 0.9.

The range, designed especially for the IT industry, features 96 per cent efficiency (as certified by the third-party certification agency TUV SUD), more or less constant throughout the entire load curve.

The range features synoptics that guide the user through the operations to be performed, thanks to the clear icons and colour coding.

Another particularly important aspect of the cost reduction is the battery management.

The Expert Battery System (EBS) manages the recharging system, taking into account the operating temperature, prolonging battery life and reducing running costs.

The Battery Health Check (BHC) system controls and maximises battery capacity.

Green Power also features redundancy and optimisation that can be applied to the batteries as well.

With the Green Power range, the UPS batteries are shared with the other UPS, which increases redundancy, autonomy or available power.

The range of battery voltages makes it possible to optimise the number of accumulators.

The ventilation air intake and outlet design is based on the consolidated hot and cold air corridor procedures widely used in data centres.

Socomec also proposes Virtual-JNC, the virtual server shutdown client.

Suitable for VMWare and MS Windows Virtual Server R2, a single Virtual-JNC controls the shutdown of all the virtual machines on the same physical server.

The result is a tougher, more reliable process that maximises human resources in the management of multiple virtual servers.

The Green Power range is compatible with all communication protocols and supports the remote communication services proposed by Socomec UPS, therefore guaranteeing round-the-clock monitoring of the UPS 365 days a year, with user assistance in system-monitoring questions.

These features are designed to reduce costs while guaranteeing the efficient operation of the user's systems and circuits.
