Co-sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the Association for Finishing Processes of SME (AFP/SME), the biennial event serves the technology needs of appliance, furniture, lawn and garden, sporting goods, automotive, and general industrial markets using advanced finishing technologies for all substrates (i.e., metal, wood and plastic).

"In a competitive market, knowledge of advanced technology is critical to maintaining high-quality output.

Finishing 2001 offers manufacturers an excellent opportunity to see advanced coating technologies first-hand," said Gary Mikola, director of expositions for SME.

"Finishing 2001 will give companies the benefits of supplier collaborations, provide solutions to production challenges, and allow opportunities to gain expert knowledge through conferencing sessions." Some 4,500 attendees from throughout the Great Lakes region can see finishing products and technologies displayed and demonstrated on a show floor of nearly 40,000 net square feet.

Approximately 175 exhibitors will showcase the latest advances in: powder coating systems; liquid systems; robotic finishing; abrasive finishing; ultra violet and electron beam (UV/EB) processing; and much more.

Exhibitors include large finishing systems suppliers such as SPRIMAG and FANUC Robotics, and coating materials suppliers such as the Sherwin Williams Co.
