The Great Lakes Manufacturing Council has endorsed the new Great Lakes 2007 Exploring Manufacturing Innovations conference and exposition.

The Great Lakes Manufacturing Council has endorsed the new Great Lakes 2007 Exploring Manufacturing Innovations conference and exposition that will take place from 18th to 20th September 2007 at the DeVos Place in Grand Rapids, Michigan This Advanced Productivity Exposition (APEX) event will provide manufacturing innovations for Great Lakes regional manufacturers, including a full spectrum of equipment, technology and education

The theme for Great Lakes 2007 event is "Exploring manufacturing innovation".

This is a new exposition and conference designed to showcase leading examples of manufacturing innovation across the Great Lakes Region, including Ontario.

This event will be the catalyst for technology transfer from traditional manufacturing into emerging markets.

A major emphasis will be the potential for new economic expansions into the medical industry.

SME will bring together leading representatives from industry, academia, and associations to design this new event.

Endorsing organisations include The Right Place, International Trade Club of Chicago, West Michigan Science and Technology Initiate, Michigan Manufacturers Association and Michigan Manufacturing Technology centre.

The collaboration between the Great Lakes Manufacturing Council, SME and its partners will help bring international recognition for excellence in advanced manufacturing capabilities to the Great Lakes Region and providing a vital resource for collaboration, education, and innovation.
