They awarded it 5 out of 5 stars which they rate as "superior to others in its class".
The other products in the same review - Autodesk's CAD Overlay 2000i, GTX CAD Plus 2000, Rasterex Colour Pro and VP Studio - cost from 5 to 15 times more than Scan2CAD.
Scan2CAD Pro also won a "Best of Show" award when it was previewed at the AEC Systems Show 2001 in Chicago (19 - 21 June 2001).

* Scan large drawings on desktop scanners as "tiles" - move, assemble, vectorize.
* Open grayscale and color (24-bit, 8-bit and 4-bit) raster images, also black and white.
* Read in GIF, JPEG and PNG files (as well as all the previously supported formats like BMP, TIFF, GEOTIFF, CALS, etc).
* Automatic and user-defined color reduction from 16.7m colors to 256 or less.
* Vectorize color images and save as color DXF mapped to the color palette of your CAD.
* Cut and Paste raster images from other applications.
* Thicken Pixel command mends dithered lines for improved vectorization of poor-quality images.
* Rubbersheeting.
* Gap Jumping command joins broken vector lines into one continuous line.
* Enter TrueType fonts as logos, signs, artwork - and outline them.
* Import HP-GL PLT files and save them as raster (rasterize).
* Print all or part of a raster or vector file to fit paper or to scale.
* Automatic Batch Run by directory - includes raster clean-up option.
As you can see Scan2CAD Pro is packed with many new and useful features.
Comparable products of similar power cost much more but are also more complicated to learn and use.
And if you only have an infrequent requirement they may be too expensive for your needs.
