SolidWorks Corporation has announced that 23 products have achieved Certified Gold Product status for SolidWorks 2001.

SolidWorks Corporation has announced that 23 products have achieved Certified Gold Product status for SolidWorks 2001, expanding its customers' selection of specialized three-dimensional (3D) computer-aided design (CAD) solutions Gold Products are software applications developed by other companies, but tested and certified by SolidWorks to ensure high quality, integration and interoperability with its software

The products are part of SolidWorks Partner Program, through which SolidWorks and partner companies provide integrated solutions and services that improve SolidWorks customers' productivity.

More than 400 companies worldwide participate in the SolidWorks Partner Program, including market leaders in finite element analysis (FEA), product data management (PDM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM).

To achieve Certified Gold Product status, partners' products must be fully associative with SolidWorks software and represent the highest level of single-window integration.

SolidWorks, a leading provider of affordable, easy-to-use 3D CAD software for the mainstream market, expanded the number of Certified Gold Products by 30 percent in the last year.

"The Partner Program delivers cost-effective solutions that help SolidWorks customers maximize the benefits of mainstream solid modeling," said Robert McGill, manager of the SolidWorks Partner Program.

"Our customers can choose from a large selection of best-in-class, integrated applications covering all steps of product development." FloWorks, a Certified Gold Product from NIKA-USA that provides engineering fluid dynamics capabilities, was developed exclusively for SolidWorks software.

"We share SolidWorks' vision of empowering engineers on the Windows? platform," said Mike Harrison, CEO of NIKA.

"Users gain full access to all the capabilities of SolidWorks without any compromise - a similar look and feel, single-window integration, and support of all SolidWorks features." Ben Kalinowski, senior engineer at Cambridgeport Air Systems and a user of both software packages, finds both SolidWorks and FloWorks easy to learn and intuitive.

"The integration between FloWorks and SolidWorks is a tremendous timesaver," he said.

Similarly, Linius Technologies develops wire harness design software called EMbassyWorks specifically to benefit SolidWorks users.

"The Gold Partner program provides our customers with best-in-class products from multiple vendors within a common user interface.

This dramatically shortens ramp-up time and learning curve issues, " said Linius President Tim Alibozek.

Bob Oarski, engineering manager at IntraLase and user of both software packages, affirms Alibozek's view.

"SolidWorks and EMbassyWorks allowed us to ramp-up faster than we could have imagined.

We can build physical prototypes simultaneously and enter testing almost immediately following the EMbassyWorks layout." The 23 products achieving Certified Gold Product status for SolidWorks 2001 include: Solid PLM from CaRD America; RevWorks from Design Automation; PDMWorks from DesignSource Technology; SolidMech from EMT Software; EmbassyWorks from Linius; eMatrix SolidWorks Integration from MatrixOne; Dynamic Designer from Mechanical Dynamics,; MechSoft from Mechsoft.com; DBWorks from MechWorks; Solid PDM from Modultek Corporation; Plastics Advisers from Moldflow; visualNastran FEA from MSC.Software; FloWorks from NIKA; MoldWorks from R and B Mold and Die Design; ConceptWorks from RealityWave,; SmartExpress from SmarTeam,; SolidParts and Activault from SolidPartners,; COSMOS/Works from Structural Research and Analysis Corporation; CAMWorks from Teksoft; Sigmund 1D from Varatech; ProductCenter Integrator for SolidWorks from Workgroup Technology Corporation and CircuitWorks from Zeal Solutions.
