SolidWorks Corporation will now include SolidWorks Toolbox in its educational design software package for students and educators, making product design faster and easier by giving them instant access to a library of standard parts SolidWorks, a leading provider of affordable, easy-to-use 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software for the mainstream market, has integrated SolidWorks Toolbox with its core SolidWorks(r) 2001 software at no additional cost

Educational licenses of SolidWorks software also include PhotoWorks(tm), the company's photorealistic rendering software, and SolidWorks Animator, a 3D animation package.

The comprehensive suite, available April 1, expands power and ease of use for future engineers and designers.

Today, SolidWorks has more than 52,000 educational licenses of software installed worldwide.

SolidWorks Toolbox provides design automation and drafting annotation tools, as well as time-saving access to a wide variety of standard components.

Formerly offered as a partner application called Toolbox/SE, the product was recently renamed SolidWorks Toolbox following SolidWorks Corporation's November 2000 acquisition of CIMLOGIC.

Previously, CIMLOGIC had served as a SolidWorks Gold Partner for four years.

"SolidWorks Toolbox is a perfect fit for today's engineering design programs.

Combined with SolidWorks Animator, PhotoWorks, and SolidWorks core software, the Toolbox product provides a complete, comprehensive suite of productivity tools that will enhance the learning experience for all engineering design students," said Rosanne Kramer, SolidWorks' director of worldwide education markets.

"SolidWorks Toolbox brings real-world solutions and ease of use into the classroom, and provides maximum benefit to today's educators." All educational users of SolidWorks with current subscription service will receive a Toolbox license with their annual upgrade kit in early July 2001.

Shipping of the integrated packages with Toolbox for new educational users begins April 2, 2001.
