World's smallest cable position transducer
Adding to its line of miniature and sub-miniature cable position transducers, SpaceAge Control, is now shipping the Series 150, the smallest cable position transducer available in the world.
Position transducers tested for airborne use
Spaceage Control has successfully completed testing of its miniature position transducers to DO-160D document requirements (Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment)
Initial applications have included industrial valve control, aircraft flight control surface monitoring, vehicle suspension tracking, and exhaust system thermal expansion verification.
The flexible and space-efficient products use a stainless steel cable wound around a stainless steel drum.
The bearing-mounted drum is mated to a precision potentiometric element that translates linear position information to an electrical signal.
This transducer technology gives high precision, easy installation, and fast calibration.
The products may be quickly mounted using 2-56 screws provided, an optional rotatable mounting base, or custom installation plates.
Series 173 position transducers measure up to 3 inches (76.2 mm) of travel with external dimensions of only 1.28 inches (32.51 mm) diameter by 0.45 inches (11.43 mm) wide.
Series 174 position transducers measure up to 4 inches (101.6 mm) of travel with external dimensions of only 1.71 inches (43.31 mm) diameter by 0.49 inches (12.45 mm) wide.
The products weigh approximately 1 oz.
and are available with right-hand or left-hand cable pull.
Custom configurations are available for unique applications.
The products feature 2K or 5K ohm co-molded conductive plastic potentiometric elements, a -65deg to +125ø C operating temperature range, ñ0.5% linearity, 0.75 watt power rating, and operate for up to 50 million cycles.
Cable tension is user specified and factory set from 2 to 16 oz.
