Series C miniature position transducers deliver extended range and rugged performance in a small package for demanding industrial control and factory automation environments.

Delivering extended range and rugged performance in a small package, Spaceage Control is shipping the Series C of miniature position transducers for demanding industrial control and factory automation environments The products deliver high-reliability displacement measurement of up to 2.16m in a 89 x 89 x 97mm package

Typical applications include hydraulic cylinder feedback, injection moulding machine control, heavy equipment component location and forklift height monitoring.

Developed as a space-saving alternative to rod-and-cylinder products such as LVDTs and linear potentiometers, the flexible and easy-to-install products use a stainless steel cable wound around a spring-powered precision-machined drum.

The bearing-mounted drum is mated to a sensor assembly that translates linear position information to an electrical signal.

Key features and benefits include: DctConnect technology to eliminate backlash that results with clutched designs; an AccuTrak threaded drum that ensures repeatability from cycle to cycle; and an optional UniExit cable guide that allows 360 x 180-degree displacement cable flexibility.

The Series C position transducers are easily installed using supplied cam locks or optional tube clamps.

Installation generally takes less than 1min.

The products weigh less than 567g and can withstand 100/15g shock/vibration environments.

Analogue or digital outputs are available.

Operating temperature is from -40 to +85C (analogue) and -10 to +85C (digital).

Environmental protection is to IP66/NEMA 4.

Custom configurations and signal conditioning are available.

Operating lifetime is in excess of 5,000,000 shaft revolutions.
