The Series 6 line of miniature draw wire transducers with FlexSignal electrical outputs is now being shipped by SpaceAge Controls.

The Series 6 line of miniature draw wire transducers with FlexSignal electrical outputs is now being shipped by SpaceAge Controls, meeting the diverse range of signal types required by industrial control, OEM, and test and measurement users.

With the ability to monitor up to 85 inches (2160 mm) of displacement, the Series 6 draw wire transducers offer a choice of: * 4-20 mA (current loop) * low-level bridge (strain gage) * voltage conditioner (0-5VDC, 0-10VDC, +/-5VDC, +/-10VDC, and many more) * standard- and high-resolution digital (quadrature) * voltage divider.

Users can save space, time, and money by using the integrated signal conditioning.

The signal conditioner is located in the miniature transducer and eliminates wiring to specialised and expensive signal conditioning modules.

The low-level bridge, voltage conditioner, and 4-20mA options cost less than 50% of standalone signal conditioning modules.

The product line was developed based on user input showing a broad range of signal output requirements.

Research conducted by SpaceAge Control ( a web poll at the company's web site) indicates these preferences for signal outputs: Signal Ouput Type, Percent 0-5VDC, 17% +/-5VDC, 12% 0-10VDC, 18% +/-10VDC, 12% bridge (strain gage), 3% 4-20mA, 2% voltage divider, 6% RS-232, 6% quadrature (digital), 4 % TOTAL, 100 % The voltage conditioner output is particularly flexible by allowing for 12 to 40VDC input and providing user-settable outputs such as 0-5VDC, 0-10VDC, +/-5VDC, +/-10VDC, and many more.

In addition, reverse polarity protection is provided along with a choice of increasing or decreasing signal output.
