According to national fire safety regulations, all wiring for critical safety systems such as building fire alarms and emergency lighting must operate for at least 30min when exposed to external fire.
Other systems such as water pressurising plants for the supply of extinguishing water, ventilators and lifts have to remain functioning for a minimum of 90min.
In both cases, Spelsberg's WKE range of flame resistant junction boxes provide guaranteed protection to DIN, VDE and UL standards.
The WKE range is manufactured from orange (RAL 2004) halogen free Duroplast, which offers lower smoke emissions and an ingress protection IP54 to EN60529.
The units are available in three sizes that range from 100 x 100 x 50 to 165 x 165 x 76mm and come complete with IP54 cable entry accessories.
Each junction box is rated at 250VU and features an integral five-pole, high temperature ceramic terminal, suitable for conductors from 0.5mm2 up to two 6mm2 or four 1.5mm2 conductors per pole.
Perfect for fitting and refurbishing industrial units, the WKE box enables emergency services including sprinkler systems, exit lights and general lighting to remain functional.
