Cable transit systems won't conduct fire
A new range of cable transit systems features side panels that expand instantly when exposed to excessive heat or fire, sealing the units to prevent smoke and flames travelling between rooms.
Spelsberg's new WD90 and TW90 cable transit systems feature side panels that expand instantly when exposed to excessive heat or fire, sealing the units to prevent smoke and flames travelling between rooms The flexible units are fire-resistant to DIN 4102 Part 9 S90, which guarantees 90 minutes of protection and helps continue the operation of vital evacuation systems

Ideal for retrofitting in any partition walls or ceilings, the transit systems are easily customised and come in a variety of aesthetic designs.
When designing a work environment, one of the primary considerations is how to prevent fire from spreading throughout the building via doors, windows, air conditioning systems and cabling apertures.
With Spelsberg's innovative new WD90 and TW90 cable transit systems, building designers, builders and interior fitters can now install complex cabling systems whilst increasing the levels of fire protection throughout the building.

The WD90 and TW90 transit systems consist of tough galvanised boxes fitted with adaptable face panels and internal walls that automatically expand when exposed to excessive heat or flames, effectively preventing fire, gas and smoke spreading from room to room.
Both units offer fire-resistance to DIN4102 Part 9 S90, providing 90 minutes of evacuation time and helping protect vital lighting, sprinkler and shutdown systems.
The units can be easily retrofitted in masonry, concrete walls or ceilings with mortar and in light partition types using angled mountings.
Once installed, the front covers of the units can then modified to fit cables using a knife or a soldering iron and then fixed in place using a long-life flexible sealant.
The WD90 series are supplied with four different internal profiles including squares hexagon section and low profile rectangles.
The units fit walls depths from 10 to 15cm and accept cables of almost any diameter as well as armoured conduits up to M63 (or Pg 48).
The narrower TW90 model takes all types of cables up to 20mm in diameter and conduits up to M32.
Its elongated rectangular profile is designed for use in walls from 12.5cm and, similarly to the WD90 series, lends itself to vertical installation in pairs or with up to three units side by side.
Both the TW90 and WD90 transit units are the most recent additions to Spelsberg's fire protection range that includes flame retardant enclosures, conduit and thermo-expanding hoods for junction boxes.
Spelsberg UK also stocks over 300 other enclosures, which cover almost any electrical application and represent the widest selection of plastic enclosures available ex-stock in the country.
Their headquarters are centrally located in Telford, providing customers with immediate access to technical support and next day delivery on all standard items. Request a free brochure from Spelsberg els UK ...
