Spelsberg's tough black plastic enclosures ensure protection from UV degradation, knocks, temperature variations and moisture ingress.
Landscapeplus has introduced a new range of outdoor lighting, irrigation and water feature systems that include all that is needed for a professional fit and finish.
Included in the systems are IP65 rated junction boxes manufactured specifically for this application by UK supplier Spelsberg.
The tough black plastic enclosures ensure protection from UV degradation, knocks, temperature variations and moisture ingress as is to be expected for an outdoor junction box, but Landscapeplus chose black as it provides an aesthetic improvement over lighter coloured alternatives that tend to "stick out like a sore thumb" in outdoor installations.
Richard Sales, MD of Landscapeplus comments, "For functional items to be unobtrusive in the garden, we have found that black is the best colour".
"Because we have not been able to source a good quality black junction box off the shelf, we have had two types specially manufactured by Spelsberg using high-grade black plastics".
"Spelsberg already offer a customisation service for standard enclosures, drilling, milling and populating them, but we wanted to go a step further".
"Most of the standard or armoured cable and fixings we supply are already black, so the junction boxes had to match".
The bespoke enclosures add that extra touch of professionalism to an installation and complement the rest of the items Landscapeplus include in an installation kit.
The idea of the successful kit service is that an installer can specify what they want from a wide range of leading edge components all kept in stock, and the peripheral elements they will need to install it from lighting accessories to pumps, cables, cable glands and enclosures are packed together and delivered direct to site where the installer simply has to open the box and get on with the installation - even sockets, screws and wall plugs are included.
Ideal for commercial and domestic installations the standard junction box is IP65 rated to protect wiring junctions from anything the British climate can throw at it.
They can be supplied with a choice of cable glands; the built in 'soft' knockouts ensure a good secondary seal against the gland and make installation far quicker and easier as they do not require drilling.
Standard junction box dimensions are 93 x 93 x 55mm.
The larger size junction boxes provide more room within the box for additional wiring, and make space for better access to connections when wiring, they have four lid screws for extra rigidity, M20 / M25 knockouts and an ingress protection rating of IP66.
Dimensions are 110 x 110 x 66mm.
