Spelsberg offers Bimed cable glands

A Spelsberg els UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 3, 2008

Spelsberg now offers the entire range of Bimed cable glands in the UK.

Spelsberg's enclosures are well-known for their built-in high-quality push-fit entry seals, whereas the Bimed range has been introduced to offer more mechanical cable retention and higher IP ratings where required.

Graham Fox, managing director, Spelsberg UK, said: 'The cable glands offer ingress protection up to IP68 and are supplied in a range of sizes and materials.

'The designs are quick and easy to install and provide users with a secure entry seal and high cable retention.' To ensure that Spelsberg's enclosures are as secure as possible, they will now be supplied with the option of Bimed cable glands.

The glands are available in tough plastic polyamide form or brass-nickel-plated - both constructions are highly durable in harsh environments.

Each has a range of opening sizes between 13mm and 59mm.

Variations include spiral-topped strain relief glands, and Conus pressure screw-type cable glands - as the top is screwed down, the sealing ring is clamped against the cable, which creates a strong and water-tight grip.

Brass-nickel-plated glands are also available in a number of styles, including the DS glands, featuring a double silicone seal that provides temperature resistance up to 300C.
