An electromagnet clutch has been designed by SG Transmission to meet new European legislation.

An electromagnet clutch has been designed by SG Transmission to meet new European legislation SG Transmission manufactures the clutch, which is used on a hose reel in a hazardous environment where there is risk of explosion

The clutch is designed to ensure there is no flame path.

Aluminium shrouds are used to isolate the clutch from a potential hazard.

The clutch, which has a higher than average torque capacity of 100Nm, falls within the European ATEX regulations which cover the use of mechanical devices in hazardous environments.
