Score Energy is sponsoring Rob Sunderland in the Formula Ford Zetec 2004 championship.
Score Energy is sponsoring Rob Sunderland in the Formula Ford Zetec 2004 championship.
Sunderland, 23, finished 3rd in the 2003 Southern FF Zetec Championship, and has been awarded "Rising Star" status by the British Racing Driver's Club.
Competing in the Scholarship class, Sunderland views the 2004 season as a crucial step in his motor racing career.
With the announcement of Score as Sunderland's major sponsor, the scene is set for success.
He knows that this season can make or break him as a driver but he is determined to succeed.
"I have a fantastic opportunity ahead of me this season.
Racing in the National Formula Ford Championship is the first rung on the ladder to professional motorsport.
I am confident that if I apply myself and work hard throughout the season I can achieve the results I know I am capable of.
Opportunities like this are few and far between and I fully intend to make the most of it".
Sunderland's car, a Van Diemen RF03 prepared by Kevin Mills Motorsport, will bear the Score Energy name.
Score Energy was founded in 2003, to integrate Score Group's gas turbine overhaul, component repair, performance test, and field service businesses.
Announcing the sponsorship, Managing Director Alan Ritchie said: "Score's support of Rob Sunderland recognises the company's consistent investment in young talent.
Successful completion of the Formula Ford Scholarship class will provide a springboard for Rob's future career.
Our sponsorship of Rob is for one season, but as with all investments made by Score, we are taking a long term view and hope to support Rob as his career develops".
