The VT-Modem-2 offers all the features of a general purpose modem plus a dial out function based upon the state of an alarm contact or a PLC digital output

The VT-Modem-2 from Sixnet is just one of the compact rugged industrial telephone modems available through Seprol in the UK.

It offers all the features of a general purpose modem plus a dial out function based upon the state of an alarm contact or a PLC digital output.

It can then dial a pre-stored phone number optionally identifying itself by way of a pre-stored ASCII message.

Flexible features of this modem allow it to perform retries or even connect to an alternative number until it has verified that a connection has been made.

The PLC Self-Dialling Industrial Modem is well suited for applications that require a "dial upon alarm" function from a PLC or even sending a message based upon a switch contact closure.

All Sixnet industrial modems contain an industrial version of the same modem chip-set found in PC internal modems.

They support the full set of modem (AT) commands, protocols and operating features, and are 100% Windows software ready.

Being DIN rail mounted, with an operating temperature range of -30C to +70C and powered from 10-30 VDC, using an industrial modem eliminates the difficulties encountered with installing office grade modems in industrial environments.

As they are compliant with telephone systems around the world, Sixnet industrial modems also offer a simple solution for global business, enabling companies to opt for system standardisation instead of adaptation.
