Sprint Electric is claiming a major development in DC drives technology with the release of its PLX range.

The PLX range's functionality and compact design has proven, over the last five years, to set the standard for the many applications where DC drives continue to provide significant advantages over their AC counterparts.

"The PLX range is designed to offer customers powerful, flexible and easy to program digital DC drives", says Sprint Electric's R and D Director Dr Aris Potamianos.

A 40-character backlit LCD shows the easy to use menu structure using English language parameter names.

The programming menu is designed for rapid travel to the desired parameter using the four ergonomically designed keys.

The extensive range of application software functions enable the most difficult tasks to be completed easily and efficiently, making costly external hardware a thing of the past.

The PLX is part of an integrated range of two- and four-quadrant DC drives, from 0.37 to 265kW.
