With over 1000 users worldwide in smaller production/subcontract companies, pattern making and toolmaking type businesses, SprutCAM offline programming software is now available in the UK.

The competitively priced SprutCAM offline programming software, which has over 1000 users worldwide in smaller production/subcontract companies, pattern making and toolmaking type businesses, for programming CNC machining centres and CNC milling machines, is now available in the UK.

Providing full sales and technical support for the new software in the UK and Ireland, Sprut Technology UK is a totally independent company set up in Taunton, Somerset.

Formed early in 2004 by CNC training specialist Dave Pearson, who has a strong production engineering background in the hydraulics industry and four years product management experience with XYZ Machine Tools of Tiverton, Sprut Technology has already installed more than 20 systems in the UK.

According to Managing Director, Dave Pearson: "SprutCAM is opening a whole new market for the smaller CNC machinist company that operates on low budgets and needs high flexibility because this type of company rarely knows what the next job will entail".

"Companies like this tend to be relatively infrequent users of offline CNC programming and therefore require easy to follow routines with a good interface developed for the machinist and excellent levels of support".

He maintains: "Most CAM systems are targeted at larger companies which have specialist CNC programmers and these systems can confuse the occasional user".

"Most often, people working in very small firms have to be multi-disciplined and therefore require very straightforward but highly flexible software to meet their needs".

Developed in Russia, the software is currently sold in 30 Countries in two product levels.

Starting at just GBP 1295, the 2, 2.5D Machinist milling package includes full on-site training and 12 months telephone and Internet support.

The higher functionality 3D Expert package with the same level of support and training sells for just GBP 3250.

Both systems are available with a 30 day free-of-charge trial licence which allows potential users to experience the full system in their own working environment and both packages have a no-charge access to a library of post-processors to suit most current CNC control systems.
