Spirax Sarco reckons the LC1300 is one of the most cost-effective level controllers available as it allows functions to be added as demand dictates Users pay only for the functions they currently require, confident that future upgrades will be easy to implement by simply adding extra modules

In its base form the LC1300 level controller will provide power and one alarm that can be configured to warn of either a high or low fluid level.

If pump control is required, a small additional unit can be plugged into the side of the base module.

If more alarms are needed, then a further module can also be attached in a similar way.

This can be configured independently as a high- or low-level alarm.

The LC1300 operates on the basis of conductivity.

When the tip of a connected level probe is immersed in liquid it completes a circuit to earth.

The controller can be set to operate a pump (via a pump starter/relay), solenoid valve or alarm relay when water touches or uncovers a probe tip.

Each LC1300 controller can operate with up to four tips, making it suitable for use with a range of level probes, including the Spirax Sarco four-tip LP10-4.

As well as boiler level control and alarm systems, the LC1300 is also suitable for process tanks and pressurised deaerators.

Additional advantages include the LC1300's ability to deal with fluids with a conductivity as low as 1uS/cm, making it suitable for condensate applications.

The controller also senses the supply voltage and any water turbulence automatically, which makes it extremely easy to set up.

Typical applications include: boiler on/off water level control systems; standard integrity low- or high-level alarms (for boilers this will be generally supervised boiler houses); feedtank on/off level control plus alarms; on/off level control alarms for pressurised deaerators; and any process vessel that requires a simple alarm and on/off control.

The controller can be DIN-rail mounted or wall mounted with a suitable enclosure.
