Spirax Sarco has launched its next generation of MFP14 automatic mechanical pumps, which offer an extended three year mechanical warranty for all applications, regardless of the degree of the pumping load.

Several design changes ensure that the pumps will offer long and reliable service in even the most demanding situations.

Automatic mechanical pumps are self-contained units that need no electrical supply because they use steam or other gas for motive power.

The latest MFP14 versions have a larger capacity body that reduces the number of cycles that the internal mechanism needs to make to pump a specific volume.

Fewer cycles, coupled with an improved operating mechanism, means less wear and higher reliability.

Unlike electrical pumps, the MFP14 has no seals to maintain and its few, slow-moving parts are not subject to excessive wear.

With no electric motors or level switches, the MFP14 is ideal for hazardous areas and can operate even when completely submerged.

The MFP14 is highly efficient, requiring only minimal amounts of steam or gas for power.

Typically, only 3kg of steam is needed to pump 1000 litres of fluid, and because the steam can be returned to the boiler house, the pump has very low running costs.

One of the most common applications for the mechanical pump is to remove condensate from heat exchangers and other industrial steam heated equipment.

The MFP14 is available in SG iron, cast steel or stainless steel.

Sizes range from DN25 to DN80 to suit a wide range of applications.
