A new range of shaded-pole fractional-horsepower geared motors are manufactured and assembled in the UK from large stocks, and units are available on short delivery times.

Specialized Geared Motors has launched a new range of shaded-pole fractional-horsepower geared motors The range is manufactured and assembled in the UK from large stocks and units are available on short delivery times

Using a proven design, the range is available with a number of motor powers and gearbox ratios, to give output speeds between 3 and 200rev/min, and output torques from 1 to 10Nm.

The gearboxes are available with a standard 6mm, 0.25in or 0.375in output shafts, although others sizes are available on request to customer requirements.

The gears are precision manufactured, and supplied as standard with case hardened steel for long life, but are also available with Tufnol primary gears for very quiet running applications, such as animatronic models.

The geared motors can be supplied for a clockwise or anticlockwise output shaft rotation, due the nature of the AC shaded pole function.

If no request is made then they are supplied with a clockwise rotation as standard.

The mounting of the geared motors is achieved using the four mounting pillars, supplied with 3.9mm diameter hole 10.3mm deep, or tapped to M5 or 2BA.

Again if no preference is made then the product is supplied as standard with M5 threads.

The motors are available as standard in 220-240V 50Hz single phase, but other voltages are available on request.

They are available in five lengths, for various power options.

A self-driven motor cooling fan can be supplied for application with high ambient temperatures.

Typical applications include: commercial catering equipment, laboratory equipment, models and animations, animatronics, stage lighting, pumps and vending machine applications.

Because of their versatility, small size, simple technology and relative low cost, AC shaded pole motors and geared motors have many varied applications in many industries.
