Flow meter plumbs new depths
A new deep-sea version of the popular Seastream subsea flow meter can be used at depths down to 3000m.
A new deep-sea version of the popular Seastream subsea flow meter, now available from Solartron ISA, can be used at depths down to 3000m.
The new version has been developed in response to increasing demand for deep-sea instrumentation for use in new fields such as the Gulf of Mexico.
Standard Seastream flowmeters (suitable for use down to 1500m) are already installed in more than 150 North Sea well management applications.
Ideal for subsea injection metering including water injection, methanol injection and gas lift, the meter has a proven track record in helping operators to optimise well efficiency.
The new version brings these benefits to deep-sea applications.
Seastream is based on a classical Venturi tube design, and offers measurement accuracy of better than +/-3%, or +/-1 % with calibration.
A low pressure loss across the meter ensures energy efficiency, with only short upstream pipe lengths required.
Like the others in the range, the new deep sea Seastream is manufactured in accordance with API 6A and 17D and is suitable for 10,000lb/in2 rated systems.
All meters are supplied complete with a differential pressure transmitter.
Subsea electrical connectors can be provided to match any third-party interface system.
