Sherborne Schaevitz has been appointed as a UK distributor for rotary encoders manufactured by Leine and Linde of Sweden.

Sherborne Schaevitz has been appointed as a UK distributor by European manufacturer Leine and Linde of Sweden in a move which will see the company's Schaevitz brand of precision servo loop inclinometers and accelerometers complemented by this additional rotary encoder line.

Mike Baker is MD of Sherborne Schaevitz: "We're delighted at this new development.

We have an ongoing commitment to expand our product range to include complementary technologies but any products brought under our banner had to match our standards of quality and reliability - these Leine and Linde products fit the bill.

The company has the reputation for designing and manufacturing the highest quality products and adding them to our product range will be good news to our UK client base who can now find a much broader range of quality precision sensors all under one roof".

The rotary encoders are backed by the 30-year Leine and Linde heritage in this specialist technology and are acknowledged to be amongst the most robust and versatile with the option of in-built intelligence on the world market.

Encoder options are available to meet very specific customer requirements.

The range consists of incremental and absolute-coded rotary encoders with a distinct emphasis on robust products.

These exhibit proven reliability, year after year, regardless of vibration, shock, temperature extremes and other harsh environmental conditions.

These encoders are "intelligent", with built-in microprocessors, numerous special functions and are easily adapted to various fieldbus systems.

The end result is more efficient, operationally safer machines and automatic processes Applications for rotary encoders are varied, but they are most widely used in industries where rotary movement of plant and machinery is involved.

Such industries include the material handling and packaging industries, many and varied areas of engineering, as well as metal processing, forest and wood processing and throughout the pulp and paper industries.
