Load cells star in low force measurements

A Sherborne Sensors product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 27, 2006

New load cells are designed for applications where extremely low force measurements are required to be measured to a high degree of precision.

The Schaevitz SS2/SS3 range of load cells from Sherborne Sensors are designed for applications where extremely low force measurements are required to be measured to a high degree of precision.

With a full range of 60g and virtually infinite resolution very low forces can be resolved down to just a small part of one gram.

The bonded semiconductor strain gauge technology confers excellent sensitivity and eliminates the fragility associated with unbonded strain gauge types.

The design features excellent immunity to the effects of eccentric loading, side loading and bending moments and is available for tension or compression measurement.

The low deflection and consequent high frequency response ensures the unit is suitable for measuring both peak and transient forces.

The load cell is aimed at applications in the medical industry, research and development establishments and industry in general where ultralow force measurements have to be made.
