The Shot Peening Workshop, held annually in the USA, will be making its first appearance in Europe at the Scandic Copenhagen Conference Centre on 26th and 27th May 2003.

The workshop is renowned as a centre of excellence for shot peening technology and provides certificated training to three levels.

The three levels provide appropriate instruction for the roles of operator, supervisor and instructor.

The shop peening process is widely used in aerospace and automotive sectors to enhance the fatigue resistance of metals.

The benefits are greater safety margins, longer service life and improved performance limits for treated components.

The process is increasingly used in other sectors such as mountain bikes, spring manufacture and production machinery.

Enquiries about the workshop can be directed to UK company Surface Dynamics.

Says Managing Director, Paul Huyton, "This is a great opportunity to acquire globally recognised training for this important process.

I have received all three levels of training and found it clear, practical and comprehensive.

And the Workshop is the occasion to meet others involved in the process and discuss their applications.

The informal learning is also very valuable".
