Shaft seal simplifies design
BAUM(SL) and BAU(SL)X2-type Simmerring radial shaft seals have a rubber coated outside diameter.
BAUM(SL) and BAU(SL)X2-type Simmerring radial shaft seals have a rubber coated outside diameter Excellent adhesion between the housing and the Simmerring simplifies the work of the design engineer by making the flange and consequently bolted flange with static sealing element superfluous

Seal performs under pressure
Simrit's special PPS premium pressure seal Simmerring was developed for sealing shafts in aggregates that are characterised by high system pressure.
High-pressure seal replaces O-ring and backup
Cover Seal is a one-piece double-acting polyurethane compact seal designed to provide static sealing for rods and pistons in hydraulic or pneumatic systems at operating pressure levels abovve 5MPa.
The BAUM(SL) in FKM and BAU(SL)X2-type in NBR Simmerring radial shaft seals (made out of the materials FKM and NBR, respectively), have an elastomer outer sleeve which sits securely in the housing bore.
Freudenberg Dichtungs- und Schwingungstechnik has designed some of these Simmerring types with a large difference between the diameter of the shaft and that of the housing bore.
This allows the Simmerring to function as the bolted flange and the static seal thus reducing the overall cost of the unit significantly.
This type of Simmerring ensures tightness against excess pressure of up to 0.5bar - even in split or light alloy housings.
This standard Simmerring is in line with DIN3760 and can be used in a wide range of applications.
The spring loaded sealing lip designed to be suitable for applications with alternating directions of rotation.
The reduced sealing lip force ensures: less frictional heat, less frictional loss, less wear and, consequently, a longer service life.
The majority of the types in the standard range also feature an additional dust lip to prevent dust and dirt ingress.
The BAUM(SL) and BAU(SL)X2-type Simmerring radial shaft seals are part of Freudenberg Dichtungs- und Schwingungstechnik's comprehensive standard Simrit range.
A wide range of dimensions for this type of Simmerring with various diameters has already been integrated into the standard range.
This means that they are available ex-stock with the same standard of quality worldwide.
