Rod seal features pressure relief function

A Freudenberg Simrit LP product story

The recently developed Omega OMS-MR PR rod seal is used as a primary sealing system seal.

The recently developed Omega OMS-MR PR rod seal is used as a primary sealing system seal.

What makes this two-part seal set so fascinating is its patented, defined pressure relief function, which reliably prevents the gap pressure within the sealing system from exceeding the pressure in the main area.

This can happen when the piston rod moves in and out in the event of unfavourable speed ratios.

The brand new rod seal reliably relieves the pressure on the entire sealing system, thereby optimising service life.

The primary rod seal is characterised by high compressive strength and extrusion stability.

Moreover, its outstanding frictional behaviour guarantees the stick-slip free operation of hydraulic aggregates.

Its sealing function and dimension ranges correspond to those of the tried and tested Merkel Omega OMS-MR series from Simrit.

This hydraulic rod seal can be used in a very broad range of applications: from earthmoving equipment to mills.

Its upper pressure application limit is 40MPa, whereby the sliding speed of 5m/s should not be exceeded.
