In both structure and manufacturing, O-rings offer simple and comparatively inexpensive sealing solutions.

In terms of both structure and manufacturing, O-rings offer simple and comparatively inexpensive sealing solutions Thanks to a new elastomer compound made of perfluoroelastomer (FFKM), ISC O-rings can now be used in critical thermal and chemical marginal conditions

In the form of the FFKM material Simriz 495, Freudenberg Dichtungs- und Schwingungstechnik has the ideal sealing solution for exhaust units or fuel and oil systems.

These seals are proving a great success in the series production of high-performance sports cars.

The chemicals and high thermal loads that are characteristic of exhaust units make huge demands on seals.

If, in addition to this, there is very little installation space or if it is not possible to structurally adjust the sealing environment or move it to an area that is subjected to less thermal load, it is essential that the sealing material is capable of coping with this harsh environment.

By developing the highly resistant FFKM material Simriz 495, Freudenberg Dichtungs- und Schwingungstechnik has paved the way for O-rings that can be relied on at temperatures up to 260C.

ISC O-rings made of Simriz 495 are not only resistant to high temperatures; they are also incredibly resistant to aggressive exhaust ingredients like HC, NOx, phosphorus compounds, CO, fuel vapours, diesel exhaust particulates, or aldehyde.

These ISC O-rings can also be used to seal all types of fuel and lubricants.

They constitute a highly economical solution for complex automotive sealing tasks.
