Seal performs under pressure
Simrit's special PPS premium pressure seal Simmerring was developed for sealing shafts in aggregates that are characterised by high system pressure.
High-pressure seal replaces O-ring and backup
Cover Seal is a one-piece double-acting polyurethane compact seal designed to provide static sealing for rods and pistons in hydraulic or pneumatic systems at operating pressure levels abovve 5MPa.
Depending on the application's specific requirements, the trapezoidal, rubbery-elastic sealing bead can be bonded onto both the inner and outer diameter of the metal disc.
Moreover, an elastomer centring diaphragm can be formed on the sealing bead that has been bonded to the inner diameter.
These Usit rings are mainly used for screwed joints and flange joints that require simple, additional sealing protection.
As the screwed joint or flange joints is tightened, the Usit ring's sealing bead continues to deform until the metal of the steel ring makes contact with the metal of the screwed joint to be sealed.
The degree of energy is in direct proportion to the pressure exerted on the medium to be sealed.
In other words, the Usit ring is a self-energizing seal that, if installed properly, can be reused.
Several different types of steel are used for the metallic flat gasket including special SPCC and SPCC-1B steels and stainless steel (SUS 304).
The metal discs are either zinc chrome-plated or phosphated to provide additional surface protection.
72 NBR 99041 or 75 FKM 99104 are the standard elastomers used for the sealing beads.
Naturally, Simrit also supplies Usit rings containing other elastomer materials for special requirements.
Usit rings with NBR sealing beads are suitable for sealing mineral oils and HFA, HFB or HFC hydraulic fluids from -30 to +100C, and Usit rings with FKM beads seal hot air up to +250C, and mineral oils and hydraulic fluids up to +150C.
Usit rings with a diameter of 16mm are capable of withstanding pressures up to 900bar and larger Usit rings can withstand pressures up to 500bar.
Simrit supplies these Usit rings in all standard sizes and in materials of different quality and degrees of hardness ex warehouse.
