Hydraulic mounts offer optimum suspension
Hydromounts solve the goal conflict between effective vibration reduction while achieving good structure-borne sound insulation.
Increased comfort expectations that the legal environment and customers place on cabin suspension for agricultural and construction machinery can no longer be fulfilled with conventional elastomer mounts.
Hydraulic mounts present the optimum solution.
They are used where cabins, machinery, equipment assemblies or other components need be elastically insulated from high-frequency mechanical vibration.
At the same time, low frequency oscillation of the suspended structure must be controlled.
Both of these goals, which place conflicting demands on the parts used, were taken into account in the development of the new Simrit hydromounts for use in suspending operators' cabs or similar application areas.
Controlling the effects of cabin resonance requires a mounting with a high degree of rigidity and damping.
However, good acoustic isolation from engine noise for example, requires low stiffness and damping.
The KL and VL hydromounts from Simrit provide an almost perfect solution to the conflict of goals.
The innovative approach allows for an individual match to the customer's particular situation.
Thus the KL hydraulic mount permits the efficient, narrow bandwidth damping effect to be adjusted across a broad frequency range.
The details speak for themselves: suspension of cabin weights between 500 and 1000kg; excellent vibration reduction in the low frequency range, to control cab oscillation; good insulation from mechanical vibration; maximum damping between adjustable from 5-15Hz; amplitude-independent damping effect; short development time and quick delivery of sample parts; and support for the layout and optimisation of the entire cabin suspension system as an additional service.
The new KL hydromount from Simrit integrates known technical principles and implements these in a new way.
Starting with the dynamic vertical displacement of the conical bearing, a liquid is pumped back and forth between the main chamber and a compensation cavity.
This creates currents which result in mass effects as well as fluid damping.
Due to the novel design of the fluid components, very efficient solutions to the goal conflict can be realised.
The Simrit KL hydromount offers a marked improvement in vibration isolation.
It is therefore ideally suited to those applications requiring high levels of noise and vibration control, in order to meet regulatory requirement.
The VL hydromount offers a wide spectrum damping characteristic.
Compared with other types of hydraulic mounting the lower chamber of the VL mounting has a much lower rigidity.
This allows for a better compromise between effective vibration reduction, and the reduction of structurally borne noise.
Although Simrit hydromounts were conceived for agricultural and construction machinery cabin suspension, their use is not limited to these applications.
The products offer the same advantages for other types of vehicle cabins to which similar factors apply.
However, other machinery, plants and equipment, such as combustion engines, for example, which simultaneously generate vibrations in different frequency ranges and are subject to other vibrations due to their suspension can potentially benefit greatly from improved vibration and noise control through the use of Simrit hydromounts.
