Cosmos/EMS, its electromagnetic design software from SRAC, has successfully met the criteria required to become a SolidWorks Solution Partner product

Structural Research and Analysis Corp (SRAC), developer of Cosmos/Works, the best-selling analysis solution for SolidWorks software, has announced that Cosmos/EMS, its electromagnetic design software, has successfully met the criteria required to become a SolidWorks Solution Partner product Cosmos/EMS, a 3D-field simulator for low frequency electromagnetic/electromechanical applications, is fully associative with SolidWorks software

It is designed to help engineers gain physical insight into the performance of their designs through the computation of important parameters such as: torques, forces, fields, currents, inductances, capacitances, flux linkages, current losses and electrical stresses.

"We are pleased to welcome the new electromagnetic simulation product from SRAC," says Robert McGill, manager of the SolidWorks Partner Program.

"SRAC has been a SolidWorks partner for years, and has a long, successful track record of providing high quality engineering products to the SolidWorks customer base.

By leveraging the power of the solid model to support engineering decision making, our customers are maximizing their productivity and changing the way they do business." "We are excited that Cosmos/EMS is now a SolidWorks Solution Partner product," says Suchit Jain, VP of Marketing at SRAC.

"At SRAC, our goal is to provide engineers with a full suite of analysis tools that are easy to learn and use, yet powerful enough to really make a difference in the design process.

The relationship between Cosmos/EMS and SolidWorks is a prime example of this." "Cosmos/EMS works incredibly well with SolidWorks software.

We can easily manipulate the electrode geometries in SolidWorks, and then analyze the resulting electrical fields using Cosmos/EMS," says Chris Andre, a mechanical engineer at Genetronics, a San Diego-based drug delivery company.

Cosmos/EMS and SolidWorks have significantly sped up Genetronics' product development.

"The time savings are so dramatic they are, in a sense, unquantifiable," notes Andre.

"Using Cosmos/EMS, we can change an electrode geometry and analyze an electrical field within a half hour.

If we had to do these three dimensional calculations for the more complicated electrode geometries by hand, it would take days." Cosmos/EMS is sold through a network of over 300 Cosmos/ resellers throughout the world.
