FCI uses Adept to manage product design information including drawings, parts lists, operation sheets as well as general business and ISO-certified marketing documents.
The challenges Biach faced are common to many manufacturers today.
The company found it increasingly difficult to manage hard copies of all its documents, particularly engineering drawings.
It became cumbersome to maintain a hard copy of an engineering drawing as the control copy.
Often drawings were not refiled after use, which made it time consuming to relocate.
Monitoring changes employees made in drawings that could cause manufacturing errors had become costly.
Moreover, as the drawings aged, they became damaged and sometimes unreadable.
"The decision to go with Adept over other document solutions came down to wanting a proven system that is easy to implement and use, as well as our confidence in Synergis to provide support when needed", said Joseph Orban, Vice President of Engineering, Biach Industries.
"Once the decision was made, attending the Adept Administration Class was very valuable".
"It gave us the tools to implement Adept and to train others".
"All of our customers are working on projects that are critical to the success of their business".
"With the wealth of professional expertise that goes into creating a design, the return on investment in a document management system is easy to justify", said Scott Lamond, Director of Business Development at Synergis Software.
