Synergis Software is partnering with Cadalyst Magazine to sponsor a free two-part webcast series on engineering data management (EDM) on 12th April and 14th June 2005.
Part 1 will help managers at all levels recognise the value that data brings to an organisation and explain how to develop a step by step guide for successfully selecting, planning for and implementing document management.
Part 2 will help managers understand how to rapidly achieve a return on investment by implementing an EDM system.
Free registration is available via the Synergis Software website.

"Implementing document management is critical to any engineering manager's business goals".
"As a leader in document management, Synergis Software continues to provide innovative educational programmes to help executives in the CAD community better understand how efficient data management can lead to increased profitability", said Dana Fisher, Publisher, Cadalyst Magazine.
"By identifying key business needs companies can plan a document management environment that meets their requirements".
"A well planned system will not only fit a company's business needs but will allow the company to increase their productivity with minimal implementation costs, thus achieving maximum return on investment".
"I highly recommend that managerial staffs gain a clear understanding of document management system planning prior to implementing a system, so I'm especially glad that Cadalyst and Synergis are sponsoring this series", said Robert Green.
Part 1: "Planning for success" will address the critical importance of managing data and will explain the steps for successfully selecting, planning for and deploying an engineering document management (EDM) system.
Robert Green discusses: achieving improved efficiency, security and productivity; the real value of data to an organisation; key business drivers for implementing EDM; and developing a clean design for deploying EDM.
In addition, Synergis Adept customers Glenda Martin-Barnes of Innovative Steam Company and Bryan Balzer of Syndicate Systems will discuss why Synergis Adept software is the right choice for them and how document management is not just about engineering any more - it's about sharing information across the organisation.
Part 2: "ROI and implementation" focuses on the specific ways to achieve a fast ROI from a document management system.
It also outlines ways to overcome implementation hurdles, including management, IT and user buy in as well as best practices for training and deployment.
Robert Green will discuss the following topics: cost control; fast payback, high ROI; user/IT buy in; and implementation hurdles - what to plan for.
