Chain functions as linear actuator

A Serapid product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 15, 2007

Serapid Rigid Chain is used in tough applications that involve exposure to heat, contamination and debris.

Serapid Rigid Chain technology has a proven track record of reliability and toughness going back 35 years.

The Rigid Chain is currently used in the most demanding industrial applications, where exposure to heat, contamination and debris are key factors.

This technology is now available in the LinearBeam, a new product from Serapid.

The LinearBeam functions as a rodless linear actuator, but the similarity between the LinearBeam and other rodless actuators end there.

Serapid's LinearBeam can withstand the harshest and most demanding operating conditions.

Two-hundred ton loads are not uncommon for this linear actuator.

Furthermore, the Serapid LinearBeam can extend to virtually any stroke length.

Recent applications include a system to move nuclear waste 30m, movement of a 200 ton orchestra on a stage, steel mill transfer systems, an off-shore skid movement transfer system and furnace loading systems.
