SimSci-Esscor has signed a five-year, multi-million-Euro corporate licence agreement with Axens for the use of its leading Pro/II process simulation and design software.

SimSci-Esscor has signed a five-year, multi-million-Euro corporate licence agreement with Axens for the use of its leading Pro/II process simulation and design software.

The Pro/II process simulation program performs rigorous mass and energy balances and is particularly suited to the petrochemical industries.

The application can extend from oil/gas separation to reactive distillation.

Part of the reason for Axens choosing Pro/II was the product's Provision graphical user interface (GUI), which provides a fully interactive, Windows-based environment that is ideal for building and modifying both simple and complex Pro/II models.

Under the terms of the agreement, Invensys will provide Axens with SimSci-Esscor's Pro/II process simulation program in addition to other software for process engineering design.

"This agreement represents an increased commitment from both SimSci-Esscor and Axens to expand the use of our simulation products throughout Axens worldwide", said Kenneth H Brown, President, SimSci-Esscor.

"We are committed to providing Axens with the tools required to improve engineering design reliability by effectively applying our best-in-class technology as a strategic element in Axens' future plans".

"As one of the world's leading process licensors, Axens' activities span all aspects of the downstream oil and gas and petrochemical industries", said Regis Bonifay, Director of Axens' Process Division.

"We chose to expand our current relationship with SimSci-Esscor because we are happy with the performance of their product and believe that they will continue to improve it over time".
