Stroboscopes aid industrial inspection

A Sensors UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 10, 2003

Available now from Sensors UK is the all-new Drelloscop range of stroboscopes which includes handheld, fixed online and fibre-optic instruments.

The term "stroboscope " is an expression derived from the Greek for an instrument for the observation of single phases of fast, periodic movements.

If a fast rotating or oscillating object is illuminated with periodic light flashes so that they hit it always in the same position, the object appears stationary in the eyes of the observer.

This phenomenon is used as the basis of stroboscopic instruments which are used to "freeze" motion for the purpose of measurement.

Available now from Sensors UK is the all-new Drelloscop range of stroboscopes which includes handheld, fixed online and fibre-optic instruments covering measurement requirements throughout manufacturing and process industry, R and D, printing, graphics, and textiles, and for high-speed video camera work.

These instruments offer flash rates as high as 26,000 per minute and will operate on all normal mains voltages, 12V DC, and from internal rechargeable batteries.
