SandS Northern has extended its services out to Europe after winning a contract to supply gas pressure proving systems for use in science laboratories in a secondary school in Viborg, Denmark.
Hald Ege Skole contacted SandS Northern to ask for help with ensuring the science laboratories were in line with Danish law, which specifies that there must be suitable means of preventing gas from escaping into classrooms.
SandS Northern deemed the the Merlin 1000 GD the most appropriate gas proving system for this application.
The Merlin automatically detects a drop in pressure at start-up if a gas appliance is open or if there is a leak in the pipe work.
The school is one of 12 that SandS Northern has been working with in Denmark.
'Hald Ege Skole found us via FH Teknik and asked if we could help with their requirements,' said Steve McMahon, director of SandS Northern.
'We carried out an assessment and found that they needed five systems installing,' he added.
SandS Northern supplies and installs a range of gas safety products including ventilation and gas interlock panels for use in commercial kitchens, school laboratories and boiler houses.
The company is exhibiting at both the Hevar and Installer Live shows in September 2009.
