Panel meter takes on downloaded personalities

The DM3600 six-digit intelligent digital panel meter is the latest Status instrument to feature the powerful TFML (transfer function module library) software capability.

TFML allows the DM3600 to be instantly customised for a specific application, simply by down loading a free software module from the Status website directly into the instrument.

Standard modules include PID control, level with density compensation, rate of change limiter, pump lift station control, peak hold and valley hold.

The DM3600, which can be powered from aircraft or DC supplies, accepts inputs from most standard sensor types including mA, mV, V, RTD and RTC.

All operating functions are programmable either via the integral front panel keys or the standard RS485 serial port using Modbus protocol.

Standard internal software features include start up alarm delay, peak and valley memory, password protection and set baud rate.

4-20mA retransmission and alarm relays can be added using two plug-in option pods at the back of the unit.

Two isolated digital inputs are available to reset latched alarms, reset peak and valley memories or for use with TFML.

The DM3600 is also available with a versatile flow totalisations option which enables non volatile storage of integrated flow total and output options can be selected to operate on the prime variable (PV) or total.

The standard software allows power 3/2 and 5/2 flow linearisation giving a 4-20mA output proportional to flow as well as pulsing a relay in multiples of flow rate to an external totaliser.

In addition to the RS485 Modbus RTU communication capability, each DM3600 is supplied with OPC client-server software which ensures excellent plug and play connectivity within modern industrial environments.

Managed by the OPC Foundation,,OPC (object linking in process control) is an industry standard created with the collaboration of leading worldwide automation and software companies, working in cooperation with Microsoft.

Any OPC compliant device can be easily and seamlessly connected to another without the need for additional gateway modules and lengthy installation procedures.
