SICK Stegmann guide aids encoder selection

A Sick Stegmann product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 14, 2009

SICK Stegmann has created a selection guide for encoders, designed to help users quickly select the appropriate incremental, absolute, wire draw or linear encoder for their application.

All SICK Stegmann encoder options are narrowed down for diameter, shaft size, resolution, programmability, as well as electrical and mechanic interfaces.

The guide includes a dictionary of some of the most commonly used technical terms, as well as an overview describing the primary differences between incremental and absolute encoders; absolute single- and multi-turn encoders; and wire-draw and linear encoders.
