Standardair manufactures and exports air compressor spares to more than 80 countries and can support parts for a model made in 1950 just as easily as modern screw air compressor made this year

Standardair manufactures and exports air compressor spares to more than 80 countries satisfying customer requirements for an air compressor's healthy operation including the smooth running of pneumatic robots on a car production line, the safe drilling of oil on rigs, pharmaceutical uses, power stations, Aerospace and Formula 1 "In fact to many businesses air is seen as a fourth, very important, utility," explains Managing Director of StandardAir, Tim Mogridge

"The active running of an air compressor is of vital importance and without it many plants are without the power of production.

"The company was formed five years ago to exploit a market trend which StandardAir now fulfil - supplying the parts that need repairing or servicing on an air compressor.

It's such a simple idea.

"The problem many air compressor engineers had was finding a reliable compressor part quickly and cheaply.

Whilst manufacturers supplied only one brand many compressor users required parts for all major types.

This is where StandardAir has made a name for itself.

Satisfying the complete enquiry.

We have more than 8,000 parts in stock and this is only scratching the surface.

The majority of our products are manufactured at our UK factory and most components are quality approved to ISO9002, whilst every machined part can be traced back to the operator that made it." StandardAir was launched as a new business at the Hanover Fair in Germany in 1996 with a stock investment of over £850,000; the market reaction was fantastic.

Multi brand compressor spares were now available ex-stock for world-wide despatch.StandardAir still invests a lot of money on having the right parts in stock which can be delivered at a moment's notice.

"The compressor engineers could hardly believe their eyes when we first sent out sample kits, because the parts were the same quality as parts sourced from major companies but StandardAir was offering peace of mind with the same part at a sensible price.

"The company's success is a remarkable achievement from a team of seven people," says Tim.

"Any organisation is only as good as its people and within StandardAir we have a level of experience unmatched by any other independent company.

Whether it's simply the need for technical advice we provide a prompt, efficient and friendly service.

"Our technical support facility holds computer records and microfiche information on most models of compressors still in use today.

This means we can support parts for a model made in 1950 just as easily as modern screw air compressor made this year.

This can quickly help solve problems and ensure that the correct parts are ordered or superseded ones are identified for the customer.

By grasping the latest technology and dynamic management we continue to increase market share." All good ideas are inevitably copied and the companies continued growth and success against increasing competition is based on maintaining its core principles.

More than 95 per cent of our products are manufactured in the UK and 85 per cent are exported and StandardAir continues to lead the industry by range, quality and availability of its products.
